THE GAZELLE

INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT

  • World automotive park: 2 billion vehicles.

  • Forecasting to double within 20 years.

  • Tensions on the world energy market.

  • Batteries: The global reserves of rare earths do not seem sufficient to eventually convert all fossil fuel vehicles into electric vehicles, hence the need to build the lightest and most energy efficient cars of the future possible.

How to succeed to keep moving in the future? ?

THE SOLUTION

Gazelle tech started from the recognition that 75% of the consumption of a vehicle is related to its weight.
Lighter vehicles are then needed to reduce energy consumption and pollution.
Gazelle Tech has developed a patented technology frame of composite material chassis which brings to the vehicle:

  • Security: It absorbs 5 times more energy in case of a crash.

  • Lightness: More than 50% lighter than a classic car of the same type.

  • Reduced consumption of 40%.

  • Electric version :

  1. Consumption of 70 Wh/Km or 15 kWh for 180 Km compared to the 50 to 100 kWh of the traditional electric vehicle.

  2. Smaller battery for the same autonomy

  3. Recharge possible within 4 hours on any domestic plug

Total weight of the Gazelle with battery: 700 kg

The solar cover that will equip this vehicle will eventually provide the quantity of electricity necessary for an average daily trip in France of about 30km.

CARBON IMPACT

This table shows that one kg of composite material pollutes half as less than one kg of steel. (source 2010 Richard FILIPPI – ASC).

Moreover, the Gazelle being twice as light as a normal vehicle, its construction generates 4 times less CO².

The battle of the electric car has begun !

It will be won by the manufacturers who will rely on the lightness of the vehicles and the power of the engines, especially those equipping the city dwellers.

Governments could encourage manufacturers to use lightweight materials as much as possible in the frame construction phase and bodywork of the electric cars of
the future.

The incentive to build lighter cars and the photovoltaic contribution of the cover will significantly reduce electricity consumption supplied by the national distribution network.
